Dr. Sanu Vijayan is the spine surgery specialist and consultant Neurosurgeon in Lisie hospital Kochi. He is one of the very few internationally trained spine Surgeons in Kerala. He got trained in his MBBS and Mch neurosurgery from Govt. Medical College Trivandrum. Following that he completed one year fellowship in minimally invasive and advanced spine surgery from Amrita institute Kochi.
Dr. Sanu Vijayan Was Selected for fellowships from various internationally famous institutes in Germany.Following his training in spine surgery from Amrita institute Kochi,he was selected for a fellowship in spine surgery from SANA KLINIC FRANKFURT Germany.There he was personally trained by Prof. Michael Raushmann ,chief spine surgeon there , in various complex surgical procedures like ALIF ( anterior lumbar interbody Fusion),Spine deformity correction and anterior approaches to spine . He was awarded "hands on training spine fellowship degree " by Professor Michael Raushmann.
Prof Michael Raushmann recommended DR Sanu Vijayan for another fellowship in minimally invasive and endoscopic spine surgry in Schon klinic, Munuch . He was trrained in spine endoscopy by Prof.Christoph J Siepe, one of the best endoscopic surgeons in the world. He was also trained in complex spine procedures like OLIF by Michael Mayer and Andreas Korge. Dr. Sanu Vijayan attended spine endoscopy training programme held in zalsburg university Austria as part of his fellowship in Schon klinic Munich.
Dr. Sanu Vijayan was selected for the Asia-Pacific Scoliosis training programme held in April 2022, in Amrita hospital Kochi. He did the first scoliosis correction in the Department of Neurosurgery, Govt. Medical College Trivandrum. Dr. Sanu Vijayan is experienced in all advanced fields of Spine surgery like spine degenerative conditions, spine trauma ,complex craniovertebral anomalies, all types of spine tumors ,spine deformities and minimally invasive spine surgeries.Various spine surgeries are undertaken as daycase procedures in Lisie hospital by him.
