Dr.Jose Chacko Periapuram is HOD and has 34 years of experience in the field of Cardio Thoracic Surgery. He is a renowned cardiac surgeon and prolific medical writer who has authored several articles. He performed the first successful heart transplant in the state of Kerala. Besides, he performed the first successful heart retransplant in the country. He is the founder and Chairman of “HEART CARE FOUNDATION”. Government of India honoured him by conferring on him “Padmashri”.
