Adult Invasive and Interventional Cardiology

The Division of Invasive and Interventional Cardiology is the one of the best in the country and uses cutting-edge and latest technologies for both diagnostic and interventional treatments for patients with coronary and non coronary artery diseases. These treatment modalities include angiograms, angioplasties, and complex interventional treatments including Rotablation and Atherectomy of calcified lesions. We are also the fore-runners in the field of intra-coronary imaging guided optimal percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty across the country. We have 3 state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories performing more than 7000 interventional procedures in a year. Our physicians are actively involved in the percutaneous treatment of valvular lesions and structural heart diseases.

We are the pioneers of Primary Angioplasty for Acute Myocardial Infarction in our state and have one of the largest experience with the treatment of heart attacks complicated by cardiogenic shock with mechanical support of Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) and Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO). This Division also offers interventional treatment for non coronary diseases with expertise in the field of Carotid artery Stenting, Renal artery stenting, Endovascular treatment of Aortic aneurysms and Peripheral Vascular disease. The center has a dedicated Radial lounge for day care coronary angiograms.

We are at the fore-front of innovation and research in cardiovascular medicine, with a Clinical research Unit conducting multi-national trials in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines, under supervision of our Government accredited Ethics Committee. We also conduct regular training programmes for national and international fellows in Coronary Imaging and Complex coronary interventions.
